Privacy policy
How johnmorais.com handles information from people who visit the site, and what changes if it starts measuring audience.
1. Who is responsible
The site johnmorais.com is maintained by John Morais, from Florianópolis, SC. For any matter about personal data, the contact is [email protected].
2. What the site collects today
Today the site does not collect personal data. It has no form, does not ask for registration, does not use an audience measurement tool and does not load third-party services. Therefore, no visitor data is sent or stored by the site.
There is one local exception: the site stores in your browser your light or dark theme preference. This information stays only on your device, is not sent to anyone and can be deleted at any time through your browser settings.
Hosting is provided by Cloudflare, which, like any hosting service, records technical access data needed to deliver the pages, such as IP address and time. These records are handled by Cloudflare according to its own policy.
3. Audience measurement in the future
I intend to measure audience to understand which texts are read. When that happens, this page will be updated before the change goes live, with:
- the name of the tool used;
- the data it collects;
- whether it uses cookies or identifiers in your browser;
- how you can decline, when that is required.
Measurement will be done in aggregate form, to count visits per page, and not to identify people. If the chosen tool requires consent, it will only be activated after you have the option to accept or decline.
4. What any data is for
The hosting's technical data serves only to make the site work and to protect the service. The theme preference serves only to keep the appearance you chose. Measurement data, when it exists, will serve for general reading statistics.
5. Who the data is shared with
No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. The technical data stays with Cloudflare, which provides the hosting service.
6. For how long
The technical records stay with the hosting provider for the period it keeps such records. The theme preference stays in your browser until you delete it. If there is measurement in the future, the retention periods will be described in the update to this page.
7. Your rights
Under the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law), you may request confirmation that processing of your data exists, access to it, correction, deletion of unnecessary data and information about who it has been shared with. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. It may be necessary to confirm your identity before responding, and you will be told so.
If the response is not satisfactory, you may also file a complaint with the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
8. Security
The site is delivered over HTTPS. No system is entirely free of risk, but the site does not store visitor data, which reduces what could be exposed. If an incident occurs that may affect your data, you will be notified.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may change. The date at the top of the page shows the last update. Changes involving data collection will be published before they take effect.
